Discovery Family Channel Boards ‘Pirata & Capitano’

Discovery Family Channel has picked up a shiny new animated treasure with Millimages’ Pirata & Capitano (52 x 11’), set to make its U.S. debut on June 16.

Co-produced by public broadcasters, the CGI series follows Pirata as she travels the Great Sea at the helm of her ship, the Pink Skull, with her loyal crew in search of adventure. Her best friend, Capitano, flies a red seaplane and joins them on their nautical explorations. Young viewers set sail with these heroes on a never ending treasure quest full of adventure and humor, while learning the value of teamwork and friendship.

Pirata & Capitano currently airs around the world on channels including France 5 (France), Tiji (France), Rai Yoyo (Italy), Channel 5’s Milkshake (U.K.), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RUV (Iceland), CJ Tooniverse (South Korea), TV3 (Spain), Gloob (Brazil), Bein (Middle East), Canal+ (Poland), Gulli (Russia), D-Smart (Turkey), MTVA (Hungary), ETV (Estonia), ERT (Greece), LTV (Lativa) and Balapan (Kazakhstan). The show is the #2 most watched program on Milkshake, according to a recent study conducted by Mediametrie / Eurodata TV Worldwide.

Launched at MIPTV, Pirata & Capitano is now in production on Season 2 (52 x 11’), with delivery is set for Q1 2020.
